The Biggest Loser television show has inspired millions of people. Obesity is at a critical level in America. We have become the fattest people and families on earth.
When Did America Start To Become Fat?
What happened to the American waistline? I believe the American waistline began to grow, and Americans started to become overweight, when stay at home moms entered the workforce in large numbers. With moms out of the kitchen, families started to eat on the run and on the run means FAT, FAT, FAT.
Fast Food and the Microwave Oven Hit Mainstream America
Microwave ovens started to show up on kitchen counters across America. Chain restaurants started to grow and become household names. The big food conglomerates saw it as the biggest opportunity of a lifetime. It wasn’t about feeding America to keep us healthy. It was about feeding us to make money and lots of it.
An Industry is born
The ready-made fast food industry was born. This was the biggest thing since sliced bread. The fast food industry outpaced most industries in growth and sales for decades. Now that America has ready to eat foods everywhere, obesity has become a way of life.
Many American’s Want To Lose Weight
Many overweight American’s who watch the Biggest Loser TV show want to lose the weight. Being overweight doesn’t just take its toll on the body; it takes a toll mentally as well. I used to weight 270 pounds in my youth and know the mental anguish of being overweight. I now watch every episode of the Biggest Loser because I have been there and can feel their pain. The show still inspires me to eat right and take care of myself.
Losing weight is easy if you know how.
There are many diet scams and supplements that all claim to make you lose weight fast. There are just as many books and programs on losing weight fast as there are get rich quick programs, books, infomercials and scams.
Which Diets Are Scams and Which Really Work?
How is anyone to know which diets actually work, and which are scams just out to take your money? There are many diet scams to write about, but instead I will focus on what works for me, and what is the healthiest approach to losing weight and keeping it off.
I will be sharing more on how I lost weight naturally through vegetable juicing and other diet methods I have used through the years to keep the weight off.
Did you know that you could lose weight and reverse aging through raw vegetable juicing? I will write more on this topic later.
I am also a master gourmet chef with over 30 years cooking experience. I will share some simple, easy to make recipes that are low in fat and taste great.
My one suggestion is to stay away from very low carb diets. Low carb diets will help you lose weight but they will also make you very, very miserable. You need carbs!

I think a good way to lose weight and keep it off is by incorporating more raw fruits and veggies into your diet. You don’t have to give up everything you are used to eating, but by adding more fresh produce in, you will start to want more and more of it. You can gradually and naturally replace some of the more unhealthy choice. Plus you will get many nutrients in diet that includes more raw foods.
